Consolidated Flooring partners with Floorcloud

Consolidated floorsBoston, Mass.-Floorcloud and Consolidated Flooring said they are collaborating to provide the New York and Chicago market areas with a powerful new technology platform to improve the level of construction site quality control that occurs at many of the largest commercial construction projects in each region. A Starnet member for nearly 80 years and one of the country’s largest commercial flooring contractors for nearly 80 years, Consolidated Flooring said it prides itself on delivering projects of exceptional quality, on time and on budget using the latest flooring innovations .

Floorcloud is an innovative new software platform that uses shop floor conditions sensors and a proprietary database of manufacturer specifications to allow floor contractors to monitor 24/7/365 the real-time environmental and site conditions they encounter and communicate with general contractors and building owners. Floorcloud is tailor-made for the flooring contractor by a team of industry veterans and was trialled and launched this summer with input from more than 40 contractors across the United States, the company said.

“Floorcloud’s innovative platform allows Consolidated Flooring to monitor and share detailed information in real time with our customers,” said David Meberg, CEO of Consolidated Flooring and co-chairman of Install’s board of directors. “We are now able to identify and resolve issues as they arise, reducing overall project risk.”

According to Patrick Mullins, co-founder and executive vice president of Floorcloud, the company looks forward to adding Consolidated Flooring to the subscriber community of commercial flooring companies. “As we continue to integrate with other technology partners and improve our user experience, it is the input from world-class organizations like Consolidated Flooring that will continue to make Floorcloud the powerful technology platform it is today.”

Floorcloud sensors monitor ambient temperature, humidity, dew point and track GPS location. The company says additional capabilities are coming soon, including light, vibration and height readings, measurements that have yet to be systematically recorded in today’s flooring workshops.

“Integrations with Wagner Meters, Spec-Intel and Procore will be available by the end of the year, providing customers with the ultimate efficiency through technology advancements, further establishing Floorcloud as a remarkable solution to mitigate project risk,” said Scott Banda, co-founder and chairman of Floorcloud.

As Floorcloud becomes more popular nationally, it is expected to save the industry hundreds of millions of dollars in costs associated with rework, project delays and claims, the company said.
