Wellington looking to fill four vacant positions on the Combined Trade Board

WELLINGTON, Kanas – There are four types of contractor positions that Wellington wants to fill on their Combined Trade Board. The city will accept applications for the vacancies until Wednesday, June 30.

The four vacancies on the Combined Trade Board are construction, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing contractors.

The Combined Trade Board acts as an arbitration board in deciding on any questions that may arise between the authority in charge of inspections (ie – Building Inspector) and an individual, firm or enterprise.

Methods and qualifications for community contractors are determined by the board. The Board will also determine the suitability of alternative materials and construction methods and provide reasonable interpretations of codes applicable to construction, electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.

The appointment for mechanical contractors is valid for the remainder of the term, which runs until April 30, 2023. The appointment for construction, electricity and plumbing contractors is valid for the remainder of the term, which is until April 30, 2025.

If someone is interested in the positions, they must submit an application to the city clerk by June 30. The application is available from the city clerk or can be found in the city website on the Board and committees page.

In Wellington press release they hope to appoint someone who is a licensed contractor for each specific job title.
