Taylor launches Alpine adhesive – Floor Covering News

glue for wooden floorsDalton, Ga.—Taylor’s latest addition to its extensive range of adhesives is Alpine, an unrestricted moisture vapor barrier urethane wood floor adhesive. According to the company, Alpine combines high elastomeric properties, unlimited moisture protection and noise control to 63 IIC, 62 STC, making it Taylor’s all-in-one urethane installation solution.

Alpine can install engineered solid planks and parquet floors, cork floors, bamboo, acrylic impregnated planks and more. Suitable for residential, multi-family and light commercial use, this wood flooring adhesive is low odor and low VOC. Coverage is 20 to 50 square feet/gallon, depending on application and trowel size used.

“Urethane adhesives are still a trusted installation adhesive for many installers,” said Paul Murfin, president of Taylor. “You just can’t get a better urethane adhesive than Alpine and it complements our Timberline adhesive introduced a year ago.”

Timberline is a moisture curing, low odor urethane adhesive for installing wooden floors. Timberline comes in 3.5 gallon metal pails and has a strong elastomeric bond, quick grip and non-slump properties for easy installation, as well as low VOCs. Coverage is 35 to 180 sf/gallon, depending on application and trowel size used. All types of wood floors can be installed with Timberline, along with recycled rubber, cork floors and bamboo (non-woven).

According to Tim Riley, US distribution director at Taylor, Alpine is now in production and expected to hit shelves by mid-August.
