Tarkett releases new Inspired Nature Collection
Solon, Ohio—Tarkett, a global leader in sustainable and innovative flooring solutions, said it is launching a new collection, Inspired Nature, which envisions a more balanced world, one in which the influence of humans on nature is less apparent.
Inspired Nature is a new collection of modular carpet and Powerbond hybrid resilient sheets, along with a coordinating digitally printed LVT. The collection was born at the height of global isolation — a time when the natural world was beginning to restore itself to a healthier balance, the company said.
“Nature has a way of giving you what you need,” said Tommy Keener, senior design director for Tarkett North America. “Surrounded by the vastness of the natural world, you feel comforted. to cure. Connected to what is important. You feel inspired to find your unique balance. The Inspired Nature collection explores the question: ‘What happens if we let nature be? What will appear? What new insights about nature and ourselves will we find?’”
The Inspired Nature collection includes three soft-surfaced styles and one matching LVT that interpret endless vistas of desert, tundra and clouds to evoke a vast, regenerative world, the company said.
- Painted Desert is a colorpoint construction offered in modular tiles, inspired by the wind-worn terrain of the canyon landscape, according to Tarkett.
- Tundra Flower is offered in modular tiles and Powerbond, inspired by seedlings piercing arid clay, Tarkett said.
- Sky Atlas is offered in modular tiles, inspired by the amorphous shapes of clouds in a refreshed, clear sky, Tarkett said.
- Metamorphic is a digitally printed LVT offered in two colorways and protected by Tarkett’s proprietary Techtonic technology. It’s also included in the LVT Studio as part of the Tailored by Tarkett program, so it can be recolored to coordinate with a client’s project, according to the company.
The modular designs of inspired nature are offered according to Tarkett’s ethos Modular with Omnicoat Technology backing. According to Tarkett, Ethos is non-PVC, made with PVB film from recycled windshields and safety glass, contains 48-64% total recycled content, is Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver and has been analyzed and optimized by Tarkett for human health and environment. Ethos products are manufactured in Dalton, Georgia at a facility that runs on 100% renewable electricity and 98% water savings since 1993, the company said.
Inspired Nature is certified carbon neutral through the Carbonfree program. Every 10,000 square meters of ethos Modular carpet tile avoids 53 MT CO2-eq GHG emissions compared to the industry average, according to the company.
All soft floors produced by Tarkett North America are free from all six classes of harmful chemicals and PFAS, the company said. Tarkett also said Eco-Ensure Soil Protection Technology has a platinum-level Cradle to Cradle material health certificate, confirming the company’s commitment to using materials that are safe for both human and environmental health.
