Tarkett expands iQ vinyl collections

Tarkett iQSolon, Ohio – Tarkett North America has updated and expanded its iQ Granit collection and introduced a coordinating iQ Eminent collection in its high quality homogeneous vinyl sheet and tile products. Designed with care spaces in mind, Tarkett’s iQ products are low maintenance, durable enough to maintain performance under heavy use and contribute to healthy, rejuvenating indoor environments.

“IQ Granit and iQ Eminent, created in Ronneby, Sweden, embody the very best of Scandinavian design,” said Janette Murray, senior design manager at Tarkett North America. “Every detail has a purpose, from superior infection control and softer acoustic options to state-of-the-art technology that promises no refinishing for the life of the floor. With organic patterns and a warm color palette, the collection is constantly restored with a simple dry polish, so your floor, your space and your people can maintain peak performance.”

The 43 available colorways of iQ Granit and iQ Granit Sense merge into a palette that helps you to retreat, reflect and recharge, the company said. iQ Granit Acoustic also adds impact noise reduction. “Research shows that quieter healthcare facilities improve clinical efficiency, reduce stress and support the healing process,” said Margaret Bartholomew, healthcare segment manager, Tarkett North America. “In addition to contributing to better indoor air quality, iQ Granit Acoustic reduces impact noise by 16 dB. These are not just floors, they are the essential foundation for creating spaces for holistic well-being.”

According to Dr. John McKeon, CEO of Allergy Standards Ltd., a healthy indoor environment must be a priority when indoor air quality is paramount. “Healthcare organizations are investing more and more in going beyond code to optimize healthier indoor air and healthy buildings,” McKeon said. “Tarkett’s commitment to prioritizing a holistic approach to health and wellness, not only of the interior space but also of the people occupying that space, is very much in line with our values of ESG and scientific excellence. We appreciate Tarkett’s commitment to improving indoor air quality and ultimately helping improve lives.”

To optimize the indoor environment and support better indoor air quality, iQ Granit is ortho-phthalate free and certified asthma and allergy friendly by Allergy Standards Ltd., a certification program approved by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. “Indoor air quality is so important for patients with asthma and especially important in healthcare facilities,” said Kenneth Mendez, CEO and president of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. “We congratulate Tarkett on their innovation and commitment to promoting healthy indoor air quality in healthcare facilities with the first certified asthma and allergy-friendly flooring specifically designed with the needs of healthcare facilities in mind.”

New to the North American market in the expanded collection are iQ Eminent and iQ Eminent Unisense – two visuals with different scales that offer greater color contrast and the handcrafted appearance of terrazzo. These collections offer a smaller, more sophisticated palette of 25 colorways to match iQ Granit to enhance signage and creative layouts.

In addition to their soothing aesthetics, Tarkett’s iQ homogeneous vinyl record products are scientifically engineered to prevent the spread of infection, simplify care and maintenance, and support better indoor air quality, the company said. The company said the patented iQ construction gives all Tarkett iQ products superior wear, stain and abrasion resistance, as well as the ability to maintain their original beauty over time with nothing more than an occasional dry buffing – no wax or finish required for the life of the floor.

This advanced formulation also meets all requirements to reduce the spread of pathogens while maximizing return on investment. Installed with heat-welded seams, IQ homogeneous vinyl sheet floors have a continuous scratch-resistant surface that reduces spaces that could potentially harbor mold or pathogens. In addition, iQ’s flexible material can be molded to create an integral cove base between the floor and the wall with a gentle jet to prevent the build-up of dust and dirt.
