Power Factors acquires SCADA software provider

Power Factors has announced that it will acquire Inaccess, a provider of integrated mission-critical software and hardware solutions for renewable power plants, battery energy storage systems, hybrid power plants and virtual power plants (VPPs). Inaccess is a technology and solutions provider to global utilities, major oil and gas companies, leading renewable energy developers, investors and independent power producers.

The combination of Power Factors’ power performance management solutions with Inaccess’s SCADA, power plant and battery monitoring and market trading offerings will support the transition of the global renewable energy market from a subsidized and largely static environment to a dynamic, market-based environment.

Linking market and performance-based insights to asset controls is becoming a must-have for the future renewable energy market. In addition, the accelerated adoption of utility-scale storage solutions is creating new revenue streams for renewable plant owners. The combination of two powerful platforms, featuring Power Factors’ asset performance management solutions and Inaccess’ SCADA, power plant and battery monitoring, and energy marketing offerings, will unlock these new services, along with new potential revenue streams.

“The vision to connect factory insights with trade and real-time controls is one of the most exciting areas of the renewable energy market today. Open, smart and autonomous, tightly integrated tools will be needed with the ever increasing penetration of renewables on the grid,” said Gary Meyers, CEO of Power Factors. “The combination of Power Factors and Inaccess solutions will be transformative for the renewable energy sector. We welcome our new colleagues as we join forces and work together to drive the transition to renewable energy.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close within 30 days.
