NTCA launches tile art coloring book fundraiser
Flowood, Miss.-Early this month, the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) is launching a fundraiser to support the Tile Heritage Foundation (THF) and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) in a unique format: a coloring book. The Tile Artistry coloring book features art tile designs and mosaic creations from members of the THF, Tile Council of North America (TCNA), and other members of the tile industry.
“We at the NTCA wanted to support the CTEF and its work in educating, training and certifying tilers, as well as researching and preserving the rich tile legacy carried out by the THF,” said Lesley Goddin, editor of TileLetter and creator of the concept.
Timed for Christmas gift giving, the 68-page book highlights 32 colorable designs – complete with color key on the back – with contact details for the tile artists and craftsmen who created the works. Laticrete is sponsoring the project to cover printing costs so that all proceeds can go to the two organizations mentioned.
“We wanted to celebrate in a fresh way the stunning designs by tile artists and craftsmen that characterize our industry,” said Goddin. “We also recognized that the world has been going through a rough time of late and we wanted to encourage serenity, relaxation, rejuvenation and playfulness. This project supports training, education, retention in industry and health at work and at home through the soothing practice of colors!”
TileLetter art director, Michelle Chapman, arranged and formatted the selected entries into a dynamic collection of designs for coloring. Tile Artistry is available for $15 each, including shipping, starting November 8 on the NTCA website.
