NSI launches updated design manual

Dimension Stone Design ManualOberlin, Ohio— The Natural Stone Institute (NSI) has released the latest version of the Dimension Stone Design Manual.

According to the group, the 2022 edition will be of particular interest to commercial installers, manufacturers, design professionals and suppliers to the construction industry. It contains major revisions to the installation chapters. Information is now combined into two chapters instead of three for easy access. Chapters 13 and 14 now focus on horizontal and vertical installations, respectively.

This edition also includes newly created and consistently formatted drawings and images. New graphics explain coursed ashlar, split-face stone and dry-stack details. Expanded anchor images show additional anchor types currently in use. Graphics have also been updated with continuous insulation components and thermal separations where necessary. All new images conform to ASHRAE codes.

The Natural Stone Institute would like to thank the following companies for their assistance with these updates: Camarata Masonry Systems; Curtain wall design and consultancy; Gallegos; KEPCO+; Malisani Inc., PICCO Group; Rugo stone; and SM Haw.
