Chicago – The 2022 annual convention of the North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) and the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA) reached its highest attendance since pre-pandemic days.

Thanks to the large number of industry professionals on site, the show’s organizers said, attendees were able to make personal connections through table meetings and face-to-face networking functions. “The annual NAFCD convention is the best place to network and learn from your peers,” said attendee Sara Zacharias of Tri-State Wholesale Flooring. “It’s so great to have a place where we can talk to other companies who understand and do what we do every day.”

In addition to the entertainment and social forums on offer, this year’s program featured a long list of educational sessions on the latest trends in leadership, distribution management, economics, sales/marketing and technology.

“The annual convention is the most efficient use of our travel and planning budget, as we not only network with our suppliers, both new and established, but we benefit from world-class training in one location,” said A&M Supply Company attendee Raymond Prozzillo .

The NAFCD and NBMDA said they plan to maintain momentum as they drive year-round professional development opportunities and plan for the 2023 annual convention, scheduled for November 14-16, 2023 in Colorado Springs.

“As the first participants, we had no idea what to expect [at the NAFCD 2022 annual convention] and were pleasantly surprised,” said participant Leslie Morales of US Rubber Recycling, Inc. “We were made to feel so welcome by the existing members and were impressed with the speakers and opportunities to receive valuable industry updates. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.”
