Mechanical Engineer HVAC – IT-Online

  • HVAC experience:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience including:
  • HVAC system design (chilled water systems not required)
  • Pricing and procurement of HVAC systems for builders, consulting engineers and end users.
  • Preparation and submission of tender documents.
  • Project management of sites.
  • Experience in People Management:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience leading a versatile team.
  • Must have the ability to guide, encourage and boost workforce productivity.
  • Must keep staff motivated.
  • Must be able to discipline staff when and if needed.
  • Must have a basic understanding of employment law.
  • Experience with business management:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading a business or major division within a company.
  • Must have a clear understanding of the financial aspects of business.
  • Must have experience with strategic thinking and solutions within a business environment.
  • Must be able to present and report at board level.
  • Must be able to deal with customers in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to find solutions to problems that arise from day to day.
  • Must be able to present HVAC solutions to customers.
  • Qualifications:
  • Candidate with a tertiary qualification in one of the following areas:
  • Mechanical engineering:
  • At least one N6 but preferably;
  • BTech Mechanical Engineering degree or;
  • Mechanical engineering diploma
  • Business management:
  • BCom Degree or comparable

  • Job specification:
  • The job includes the following;
  • Full management function of a division within our company.
  • The team consists of sales staff, project managers, site manager, administrative staff, sales engineers and field staff and subcontractors.
  • The team currently has a total of 30 employees.
  • Making the team come together:
  • Sales targets.
  • Gross profit targets.
  • Release targets.
  • Net profit targets on a monthly basis.
  • Ensuring that the team carries out projects and assignments to the highest quality standards, which must be within budget and specified time frames.
  • Interaction:
  • High level interaction:
  • Have daily contact with the financial manager, warehouse manager, CEO, division managers.
  • Low level interaction:
  • Meeting with team once a week about operations.
  • On-site meeting with project managers and sales engineers.
  • Have daily contact with administrative staff.
  • Interact with technical personnel on an ad hoc basis.
  • Have daily contact with project managers and sales engineers.

  • Present solutions and proposals to customers.
  • Dealing with and meeting with high-level customers to solve problems.
