"art is cool" awards
Mannington Mills’ Art is Cool 2021 will be awarded ‘Best in Show’-winning artwork by Brooke McCallister, Arthur P. Schalick High School.

Salem, NJ—Mannington Mills selected the recipients of the 2021 “Art is Cool” awards. The program, now in its 19th year, recognizes the talent of Salem County students and is designed to encourage them to pursue artistic endeavors. According to the company, the entries will be judged by Mannington’s Residential Styling team.

“Artistic talent is vital to the success of both Mannington and the flooring industry as a whole, because floors are a fashion business,” said Terry Marchetta, senior director of residential styling at Mannington Mills. “The ‘Art is Cool’ program reflects our company’s continued commitment to local education and the arts. We look forward to seeing what these talented students will create every year.”

Art teachers from all Salem County high schools were invited to submit electronic submissions across a variety of media, which the company says have grown over the years to include sculpture, photography, computer art, painting and drawing. The winners are open to high school students and seniors and received gift cards as prizes, Mannington said.
