LX Hausys introduces Natural Selection Plus

Natural Selection PlusAtlanta—HFLOR from LX Hausys America Inc., a manufacturer of building and decoration materials, introduced the Heterogeneous Natural Selection Plus record collection. Thoughtfully designed and inspired by the beautiful and restorative health benefits found in nature, the collection is a versatile flooring solution that meets the design, durability, hygiene and maintenance needs for all types of healthcare environments.

“Medical construction and design professionals today face more challenges with supply chain issues, rising labor costs, pandemic threats and other uncertainties impacting business,” said Brian Rhee, HFLOR product manager. “That’s why they need brands and products they can trust. This collection brings to life 70 years of LX Hausys flooring expertise, along with testing, research and input from designers and healthcare facility professionals. Floors play an important role in the overall aesthetics and functionality of a facility due to their sheer size, and Natural Selection Plus offers the best design flexibility, exceptional durability, easy maintenance and industry-leading hygiene features.”

The Natural Selection Plus collection consists of 15 wood colors and 15 modern colours. The wood designs, ranging from walnut to ash, can be combined with all modern colors that resemble concrete and textured fabrics such as felt, cotton and linen. Installed separately or in coordination with each other, the colors can make distinctive statements in a variety of areas, according to the company, including lobbies, hallways, treatment or patient rooms.

The collection’s aesthetic appeal, the company says, is equally matched by its many benefits that are ideally suited to healthcare interiors. The collection features LX Hausys’ anti-fungal and anti-bacterial technology, which is said to prevent bacteria and fungi from entering the surface, preventing the spread of healthcare associated infections. An improved surface treatment technology – tested to protect against micro-scratches and blemishes – preserves the appearance of the colors and patterns over time. The products can be cleaned and maintained using standard facility equipment to reduce maintenance costs. The ability to perform against heavy, 24/7 use, including foot traffic, wheelchairs, medical carts, patient beds and other equipment, is achieved through a 28 mil thick wear layer, which ensures excellent durability, the company said.

The collection comes with a heavy commercial warranty of 15 years and is backed by independent certifications that demonstrate its health and indoor environmental benefits. This includes an environmental product declaration (EPD) and a health product declaration (HPD), along with FloorScore and phthalate-free certifications.
