J+J Flooring unveils Forces of Nature

Forces of natureDalton—J+J Flooring has introduced Forces of Nature, an 18 x 36 tile collection inspired by the beauty and power of the elements.

“The weather nerd in me is so excited about this collection,” says Laura Holzer, carpet design manager at J+J Flooring. “I’ve been obsessed with meteorology all my life and consider myself a bit of an amateur storm chaser. I am fascinated by the movement of the clouds, how sunset colors reflect off clouds and how all of that combined can influence our designs.”

Forces of Nature consists of three coordinating patterns – Zephyr, Cumulus, Tempest – with 100% Encore SD Ultima solution-dyed nylon, designed to meet the needs of each unique space. Zephyr is a neutral-based product, designed after its namesake for a more textured look. The gentle breeze-inspired design – or the “calm” after the storm – is available in seven colors and uses J+J’s patented Precision Color Technology yarn. PCT gives products a space-dyed effect thanks to a special stripe that is created by the twisting process of the yarn.

Cumulus joins Zephyr in its lower price point, higher design arena, designed to resemble billowing cloud formations with its translucent shapes. It comes in 14 color options that evoke everything from the rumble of a storm surge barrier to rays of sunshine peeking through during a breathtaking sunrise. Cumulus also uses PCT yarn.

Tempest rounds out the offering as the boldest of the trio, made from two-ply twisted nylon with the strong movement of irregular color stripes, designed to represent the sometimes unnerving contrast between menacing power and awe-inspiring beauty in the life cycle of a storm. It also comes in 14 colors.

Tempest and Cumulus come in two pattern variations to accompany Zephyr, allowing the user to easily mix and match and create color palettes that are said to be applicable to all markets from business to hospitality to senior living. All three use J+J’s Nexus Modular Backing with both an EPD and HPD available; are CRI Green Label Plus certified; NSF/ANSI 140 Gold certified; and boast many more contributing features for all performance and sustainability goals. The line also coordinates with all of J+J’s product platforms, including other modular carpet tiles, broadloom carpet, LVT and Kinetex textile composite flooring.
