The newest installation, a fully off-grid solar and battery system, now feeds an external Buffalo Caretaker site on the Northern Cheyenne reserve in Montana, which offers reliable, emission-free electricity to a culturally important location without access to the power grid.
This third solar deployment through indigenous energy and freedom forever is preceded by earlier installations in the Northern Cheyenne community and the Oglala Sioux and Chippewa Cree -Reserves. Each project is intended to create long -term community advantage, indigenous self -determination and environmental management.
“Our goal has always been to enable our communities with tools that help them thrive,” said Cody Two Bears, founder and CEO of Intentigenized Energy. “Solar is more than just energy-it is sovereignty, it is sustainability and hope. These projects help us recover indigenous self-determination, one system at a time.
“Many of the communities where we work do not have a local workforce or contractors,” added two bears. “They are rural, remote and complex environments. Freedom brings the horsepower forever to let these projects happen in places where the market would not go alone. That makes this partnership so important.”
And the partnership continues to evolve. In addition to new projects that are underway, the two organizations recently produced a short documentary, “”Good energy‘Who tells the story of tribal solar trainees, the elderly and communities that come together to reclaim the sovereignty and resilience of energy. The film does not only celebrate clean energy as an infrastructure, but as a healing.
With more installations in the pipeline and an eye on supporting the national solar energy for all the program, it will forever build up more in the in -hearted energy and freedom than just solar systems.
“We are proud of standing in addition to being inferiorized energy and supporting their mission to build up the sovereignty of energy through real, site action,” said Brian Egsaer, COO at Freedom Forever. “These projects are not only solar installations.
