The new Terrasmart truly unites the strengths and legacies of four separate, separate companies that have their own proud histories and longstanding success in the US solar market. You have RBI Solar and the former TerraSmart in ground-mounted, fixed-tilt racking systems, SolarBOS for balancing system products and Sunfig optimization software. Those four discrete companies have their own proud history, but together they really form a more complete portfolio that is stronger together. What customers are coming to realize is that we can connect with them upstream and downstream in the life cycle of a solar installation.
How will the new Terrasmart stand out in today’s consolidated market?
It starts with our most important capital, namely our people. We have a dynamic group of people at TerraSmart who really make a difference. That starts with our leadership and how they fully understand the life cycle of a PV project, from inception through construction to operation. It really helps to understand that full path and to understand the different markets that we play in – the C&I space and the utility – and really bring that innovation to those different areas. We differentiate ourselves by reaching out to the client and helping them understand their pain points so we can make their projects succeed.
If you want to talk about the combined installation base of systems, our combined companies have installed 19 GW of capacity and 4,600 systems in our history. Another way of thinking about our scale is the size of our team. We have over 600 employees all based here in the US who can bring to market all the services and products we need to market.
We also have powerful project optimization software as part of our portfolio, so there is over 250 GW of capacity that we have helped optimize by running through our optimization software. What all of that means is that we have the scale and breadth to deliver a holistic project experience to our clients over time.
How do you support your customers throughout the PV project development cycle?
We start with insight into where the client is trying to develop his project. We are able to take our clients’ portfolios and optimize our process to focus on delivering the value for their project experience and for their ROI.
Our integrated solar journey provides a powerful ROI at every project stage, depending on the individual needs of our customers. We start with the intelligent project optimization software to guide asset owners and developers at the start of a project and then adapt our racking solutions and eBOS solutions for portfolios located in different regions. We help value each project to achieve performance goals. By integrating products, processes and people into a holistic project experience, Terrasmart delivers unique value to its customers.
We have pile driving, ballast and ground screw foundations, so we can support any foundation for both fixed-tilt and trackers. We can provide eBOS with wiring harnesses, combiner boxes and prefabricated solutions to reduce installation time, reduce O&M costs and deliver value to the project. We are unique in the industry to offer such a diverse product portfolio that we combine with civil and installation services. This end-to-end solution enables us to deliver higher levels of optimization for stronger returns in different terrains and climates. Add to that a powerful software platform for project feasibility up front in the development cycle and achieve substantial gains ranging from 5-15% in increased project return.
