Select your brand new sink
Usually, the sink is the first to be replaced when renovating a kitchen. Selecting a new sink takes a lot of planning, as the dimensions of the new sink will play a role in the layout of your kitchen and bathroom fixtures.
Just replacing your sink and not moving it can make plumbing easier. However, your new sink may need to be adapted to the plumbing setup and height.
The best place for your dishwasher
Dishwashers come in different shapes and sizes. Ideally, your dishwasher should be placed close to the sink so that the same water supply and main drain line can be used. The dishwasher also requires a power supply. If your dishwasher cannot be placed close to the kitchen sink, you will need the help of an expert plumber.
Need water for your fridge and freezer?
Many of the latest refrigerator models require access to a water supply to provide chilled water and ice. If you’re planning to replace your old fridge with one of these snazzy new models, make sure your plumber knows exactly where your fridge is in your kitchen so it can be taken into account when planning plumbing.
Cost effective energy saving and water saving appliances
Just because a faucet or other plumbing appliance looks fashionable doesn’t mean it’s high quality. The difference between a superior quality mixer and a cheap alternative may not be immediately apparent. The real proof of the pudding in this case is the food. Quality mixers, faucets, sinks and other fixtures will last a long time and perform as expected. Cheap ones will deteriorate and leak.
Another thing that quality stepware has in common is very long warranties and excellent customer service if things go wrong.
Isolate the water supply to the kitchen
Accidents can happen at any time. If you have a leak in the kitchen pipe, or your dishwasher starts to leak or worse, your kitchen geyser bursts, you can isolate the water supply to the kitchen with a shut-off tap. That way, the rest of your home still has water while solving the plumbing problem in your kitchen.
