Daltile celebrates 75th anniversary – Floor Covering News
Dallas, Texas – Daltile Corporation is celebrating its 75th anniversary this month. For more than seven decades, the company has been known as the tile industry leader in design, quality, innovation and service.
“It’s unbelievable how much our business has grown since 1947, when Robert Brittingham founded The Dallas Ceramic Company in a small quonset hut in Dallas,” said Matt Kahny, president of Daltile Corporation. “From those simple beginnings, we have grown into the largest tile and countertop company in the world, producing products ranging from 1-inch mosaics to 11-foot quartz slabs and everything in between.”
Kahny noted that while there have been many changes, Daltile’s fundamental values have remained. “The most important of these values is the spirit of our people – the loyalty, passion and commitment they have to Daltile, our customers and each other. I am proud and humbled to help lead this great organization through its 75th year.”
As Daltile celebrates its 75th anniversary, the brand’s team members shared what contributed to its success:
“To the customer, to our team members, to our families, to the industry, to our communities and to our future,” said Chris Rogers, Daltile Sales Service Center Manager, Southwest Florida.
“When I joined four decades ago, I was part of a huge group of wonderful people who cared about each other as a family,” said Tena Boyd, senior manager of community and employee engagement at Daltile. “We were a family then and we are still a family now.”
“Our ability as a company to innovate, grow and respond to industry changes has made us who we are,” said Mitch Iddings, manager of Daltile’s sales services center in San Francisco. “It is this spirit that has made us from a family-owned company to a key part of a Fortune 500 company and a multifaceted industry leader.”
