Curt Hutchins joins FCEF board of directors

Dalton—The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) welcomed Curt Hutchins, president of residential carpets at Mohawk Industries, to its board of directors. Hutchins has been leading leading companies for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Mohawk Industries, Hutchins led several major groups within Eaton, a multi-billion dollar energy management company that did business in more than 175 countries.

“Curt is fairly new to the flooring industry and provides an outside perspective that we are happy to take advantage of,” said Jim Aaron, FCEF Executive Director. “His business record and global knowledge will be an asset to this dedicated board of directors and the FCEF team.”

According to the company, Hutchins will assume this new role immediately and will advise the FCEF team. He will personally join the board this fall when they meet November 17 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Over the past two and a half years, I’ve learned the ins and outs of the flooring industry,” Hutchins said. “I am now excited to use my experience and industry knowledge to help the entire industry thrive.”

According to Aaron, FCEF is privileged to have the dedication of so many great leaders in the flooring industry. “Curt will undoubtedly be an important addition to this group,” Aaron said. “We look forward to leveraging his operational expertise to grow our programs and accelerate our success.”

FCEF’s board of directors is made up of representatives from manufacturers, retailers and industry associations to provide a wide range of perspectives for solving the shortage of qualified installers. Hutchins will serve on the board seat previously held by Bill Gaddis, co-director of Mohawk Industries.
