CS Energy constructing 25.4-MW Upstate New York community solar portfolio

CS EnergyCastillo Technique and Amp Energy have partnered to deliver a 25.4 MW portfolio of community solar projects in upstate New York. All five projects, from 3.9 MW to 6.2 MW, will use two-sided modules mounted on fixed tilt racks and are part of the local utility’s solar program.

Four of the projects are currently under construction, with the fifth project expected to begin construction this month. All five projects are expected to be commercially operational in the fourth quarter of 2022.

New York has more than 1 GW of community solar installed and operational statewide. Its portfolio of projects contributes to the state’s goal of generating 70% of the state’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030, the governor’s goal of achieving 10 GW of solar energy by 2030, and ultimately carbon neutrality. reach by 2050.
