CFI honors Scott Humphrey with Davis award
Orlando, Florida – The International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI) recently honored Scott Humphrey, CEO of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), with the Chris Davis Award at its 28e annual convention at the Rosen Shingle Creek here.
Created in 2012 in memory of the late WFCA CEO Christopher Davis, who was known for his exceptional commitment to advancing high-quality installation and support in the flooring industry, the award honors an individual who shared Davis’s vision. strives to build a stronger foundation among all partner. Humphrey was recognized for his visionary leadership and support for CFI and the entire flooring community.
“It is fitting that Scott Humphrey has been selected to receive the Chris Davis Award,” said Robert Varden, CFI’s executive director. “Like Chris, Scott is a fearless, innovative leader, guided by a steady, internal compass. He takes risks, takes a stand and springs into action to solve industry-wide problems. Critically, he understands that relationships between installers and dealers are essential to customer satisfaction. Always someone who offers a helping hand, wise advice and meaningful support for CFI, Scott deserves this special award the most.”
Since taking the helm of the WFCA in 2013, Scott has been a tireless advocate for quality installers. In 2014, he brought in CFI under the WFCA umbrella to financially support and expand their installation training and certification programs and was instrumental in creating the first-ever industry-wide initiative and founding the Floor Covering Education Foundation.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be named the recipient of the Chris Davis Award,” said Humphrey. “I’m a big fan of Chris. In fact, I am his living legacy. Without his vision, determination and commitment, the WFCA would not be the organization we are today. I am committed to making CFI, along with other great training organizations, an essential part of solving the installation crisis. I am excited and challenged to work with Robert Varden and the CFI team and members to partner with other industry leaders to execute on CFI’s mission and fulfill Chris Davis’s vision.”
