Boen receives FloorScore certification – Floor Covering News
Daytona Beach, Florida — Boen said it has achieved FloorScore certification for all of its hardwood flooring products manufactured in Europe.
Boen has a long history of environmental leadership and underscores this with systematic audits by independent third parties, such as the eco-INSTITUT, the Blue Angel certification and now the FloorScore certification, the company said. FloorScore is a certification program established by SCS in conjunction with the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) for hard floor products and floor adhesives that meet strict Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) requirements. Regular factory audits are also required.
Products with the FloorScore label meet the indoor air quality emissions criteria of LEED, CHPS, the Green Guide to Healthcare and are recognized by a long list of other healthy building programs. While the certification program is primarily recognized for the North American flooring market, it has global adoption and is an advantage when classification programs such as LEED are required, the company said.
