BayWa r.e. distributing PVpallet’s reusable solar panel shippers
BayWare, a developer of renewable energy, services and systems, partners with: PV pallets to distribute its shipping solution for reusable solar modules. The PVpallet Series X is now available through: BayWare solar systemsa tool for installers to make material transport and installation logistics more sustainable.
The first of its kind reusable, recyclable and foldable pallet is specially designed for solar panels. PVpallet reduces packaging waste and protects the physical integrity of modules during transport and staging, resulting in fewer broken modules.
“As a leading distributor of solar and energy storage components, our mission is to bring innovative products such as PV pallet to installers at all levels in the value chain,” said David Dunlap, VP of Product Strategy at BayWa re Solar Systems. “BayWa achieved carbon neutral operations in 2018 and we have been supplied with 100% renewable energy since 2020. We also want to go beyond carbon and address a wide range of sustainability aspects for society, the economy and the environment. Our partnership with PVpallet furthers our commitment to sustainability across the solar industry.”
PV pallets are made of HDPE plastic with a steel-reinforced base and plastic sidewalls to protect modules during transportation. The outer walls are adjustable for different module sizes.
In addition, the walls collapse and the pallets pile up for returns and to maximize warehouse space. BayWare is investigating the possibilities of deploying the modular pallets in a closed transport arrangement, such as lease agreements for a pallet fleet or a deposit model.
“Like BayWare, sustainability is the driving force behind everything we do, and this partnership will help reduce waste in the solar industry,” said Philip Schwarz, co-founder and CEO of PVpallet. “Our reusable pallets are made in the heart of America using recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of the pallet’s useful life. PVpallet is ideal for the storage, transportation and storage of PV modules on job sites, or for any repowering or repair project where the original packaging from the module manufacturer is no longer available.”
