Arizona steps up as next state to prioritize renewable energy development in face of federal pullback
Governor Katie Hobbs signed on 15 September Executive Order 2025-13 To reduce bureaucracy, unlock the energy potential of Arizona and delivers lower energy costs for Arizonans. The executive order instructs the Staatsland to develop a report within 30 days with proposals to streamline processes and to accelerate for the development of energy infrastructure on Staatsland. Staatsland will also be aimed at identifying and accelerating energy -related projects that are already underway.
“Arizona is at the front lines of the revival of American power, creating the future show of the affordable energy,” said Gov. Hobbs. “We have an incredible potential to deliver affordable energy to every company and family that it needs. We just have to unleash it. We are going to cut off bureaucracy and bureaucracy that stops our economy and raises the costs. With this executive order we will place common sense before outdated policies and procedures are built and the needs of the energy infrastructure have been built.”
The executive order also determines the Arizona Energy Promise Taskforce, which will develop plans to facilitate large-scale growth, while considerably increase the energy costs of Arizonans, expand the clean energy economy of Arizona and identify opportunities to streamline processes to develop and develop energy infrastructure projects.
In addition to setting up the Task Force, GOV. HOBBS Use of State’s resources and sends the government agencies to:
- Develop a study of energy payability to identify opportunities to reduce the energy costs of the consumer and to expand programs for energy -payability.
- Analyze the affordability of transport fuel and opportunities to plan the EV acceptance.
- Provide support to energy -related companies that are affected by changes to federal policy.
- Support date in promoting energy sovereignty.

This executive order comes at a crucial moment. Recent federal actions, including the withdrawal of tax credits for clean energy and new obstacles that postpone the use of solar and wind projects, have endangered jobs and energy developments.
