Largest rooftop solar project in Atlanta now online
Floor manufacturer Beaflor USA has installed what is supposed to be the largest solar energy system from Metro Atlanta.
“This solar installation represents our dedication to sustainable production practices and also makes healthy business decisions,” says Emile Coopman, continuous improvement manager. “By working together with Cherry Street Energy, we reduce our environmental footprint and stabilize our long -term energy costs, which benefits both our customers and the planet.”
The 1.04 MW system is installed by Cherry Street. It should pay around 10% of Beaflor’s annual energy consumption.
“The system was built with plans for future expansion. This is the first step in the direction of more renewable energy,” said Coopman.
“While Georgia manufacturers increase production in the midst of rising costs for grid energy, advanced operators are looking for ways to meet their energy needs quickly and sustainably,” says Michael Chanin, CEO of Cherry Street. “Our core group is looking for solutions in the short term to arrange costs due to the increasing demand for electricity. The solution of Cherry Street-on-Site solar energy without capital costs levert exactly: reliable, affordable electricity. Simple as a sunshine.”
Under a 30-year agreement for solar energy purchasing, Cherry Street has invested $ 1.8 million to build the system and to adopt all construction and maintenance costs. The system lasted less than four months to complete. Beaflor buys the generated electricity directly from Cherry Street, allowing the manufacturer to achieve immediate energy saving without capital expenditure.
